Google now controls over 70% of searches. I’m a fan of Google and have been a fan for about as long as Google has been online. I love the company and their culture. Google is an innovative company and has done some great things, but… When is too big bad? One reason I love Google is because I’m a capitalist, a capitalist that believes that competition makes everything better.

We need competition in the search market to keep it innovative and to make it even better. Anyone that has worked online knows that anyone can game Google and the other search engines and despite all their efforts the results are still not as good as they should be. We need competition to make search better. Just look at what Microsoft’s dominance has done to office software. How much better is Excel or Word now than in was ten years ago?
