Sometimes the biggest risk a company can make is to take no risks at all. Look at Ford as an example. Instead of taking big risks on hybrid and new auto technology they stuck to their big selling trucks. Now they are screwed. Ford played it safe and did little in the way of innovation.
Of course we are also seeing the problems of taking too large of risk as well. It’s a balance based on common sense, innovation, strategy, and a strong gut.
