Google Launching Video Advertising

According to Advertising Age Google is launching targeted video through its Adsense network.  Adsense publishers will be able to provide contextually driven videos on their sites and have Adsense Ads that complement the video.  Google will be displaying ads over the video in a separate layer.  The revenue will be shared between the publisher, the video provider, and Google.

There have been rumblings about something like this for a while now, but now that Google owns YouTube and video has skyrocketed online in the past year the time has finally come for video with embedded ads.  As soon as this is available I’ll add this new video feature to some of my sites and report back to you on its success.  My biggest concern is that it will decrease Adsense revenue because the revenue will be split three ways instead of two.
